AMC2025 Code of Conduct

The 2025 Aging & Microbiome Conference (AMC2025) seeks to promote a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Our event values the diversity of opinions, perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, and expertise across our community.

The mission of AMC2025 is to amplify the significance of science at the intersection of aging and the microbiome. Topics discussed during the event may spark vigorous debate and divergent views. This is a strength. Fostering an environment where such discussions thrive is fundamental to our mission. Nonetheless, it is important to distinguish between healthy debate and disrespectful behavior. When discourse crosses that line, productive exchange is no longer possible.

AMC2025 has a strict Code of Conduct. We expect all participants to treat everyone with respect and consideration, communicate openly and thoughtfully, be considerate of viewpoints different from their own, offer critiques of ideas rather than individuals, and remain mindful of their surroundings and fellow participants.

We are committed to providing a meeting experience free of harassment, intimidation, discrimination, physical or verbal abuse, sexism, and other forms of inappropriate behavior. This includes, but is not limited to, sexual harassment; discrimination based on gender or gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, national origin, culture, or religion; and disrespectful disruption of presentations. Harassment or bullying in any form will not be tolerated. All participants—attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers—are expected to adhere to this Code throughout the event venue and at conference-related social events. Any violations of this policy will be addressed promptly and effectively. Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. The AMC2025 organizers (or their designee) may take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning and potentially without refund.

Recording and photography: Recording of talks (audio or video) and photographing slides or posters are not permitted without the explicit permission of the presenter/author(s). Respect any “no photo,” “no recording,” or “no social media” markings on slides and posters; when in doubt, ask first. Do not share images or data from sessions without consent.

If an individual experiences or witnesses harassment, they should contact an AMC2025 Organizing Team (registration desk) or email amc@leibniz-fli.de. All complaints will be taken seriously and responded to promptly. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent possible unless disclosure is legally required.
